Michigan man arrested for shooting neighbor

Authorities stated that Devereaux Christopher Johnson, age 47, had an altercation with 35-year-old Nathan Morris near Johnson’s residence in Canton Township last Saturday afternoon.

Johnson allegedly threatened Morris and his family when his daughter touched some wood chips at Johnson’s property.

Canton Township police discovered Morris lying on the street with a gunshot wound and rushed him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, Johnson refused to come out of his home in a brief standoff, but eventually exited and was apprehended by the authorities.

Michigan man known to be neighborhood nuisance

Law enforcement revealed that the Michigan man has a history of aggressive behavior towards neighbors and police officers, coupled with criminal sexual conduct charges dating back to the 1990s.

“This was an act of senseless violence against the victim,” expressed Canton Police Chief Chad Baugh in a statement.

“The Canton Police Department extends its deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and the neighbors who may have witnessed this tragic incident.”

Neighbors informed WXYZ-TV that Johnson’s behavior had become increasingly violent and erratic in recent weeks.

“Everyone has been warning their wives and children to be cautious, avoid eye contact, and not walk alone,” said Vish Vadari.

California man lit his buddy on fire over a motorcycle

A 60-year-old man from California has been convicted of murdering an acquaintance and subsequently burning his body outside his home following a dispute over a stolen motorcycle.

The conflict began on the morning of March 15, 2022, when Steven Ronald Schlapia borrowed a motorcycle belonging to 47-year-old Jimmy Wade Schwerdt, according to Shasta County Superior Deputy District Attorney Shelly Kafel.

Schwerdt attempted to retrieve his motorcycle by calling and texting Schlapia, but was ghosted.

The following day, Schwerdt went to Schlapia’s residence in Redding and the situation turned fatally violent.

Schlapia slammed a door on Schwerdt, hit him with a pipe, shot him, and set his body on fire, according to Kafel.

A friend of Schwerdt’s, who had dropped him off at Schlapia’s home, testified to hearing someone cry out, “I can’t feel my feet! What are you doing, bro?”

Then he heard the chilling response, “Does it feel good, bro? I’m going to kill your family!”

In his own testimony, Schlapia claimed that Schwerdt confronted him in the driveway while brandishing a gun, prompting Schlapia to shoot in self-defense.

The prosecutor dismissed this claim, pointing out that no weapon was discovered on Schwerdt.

Instead, Kafel argued that the wounds to Schwerdt’s face and head, which Schlapia’s defense attorney Michael Borges attributed to a fall against a tractor, were inflicted during the altercation.

When deputies arrived at the crime scene, they discovered Schwerdt’s body in the driveway, but Schlapia was missing.

A widespread search ensued, leading to Schlapia’s capture several miles away.

During the trial, Schlapia said the pair had met in 2021 at a sandwich shop, and claimed he took the motorcycle because his car had died while he was at Schwerdt’s house.

On Wednesday, the jury found Schlapia guilty of first-degree murder, torture, mayhem, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, arson, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of ammunition.

He is now looking a prison term of 25 years to life, with sentencing scheduled for September 16.

Iowa man shot his father in the face over stinky feet

Authorities in Iowa were called to a home in Burlington after a man allegedly shot his father in the face following a squabble over smelly feet.

Standing outside of the home upon their arrival, 48-year-old David Carpenter admitted to police that he had shot his father, according to Law & Crime.

When paramedics entered the home, they found William Carpenter with a gunshot wound and rushed him to the hospital.

When David Carpenter spoke to police, he recounted that an argument erupted when his father commented on his stinking feet.

The comment escalated into a heated exchange over family matters, and the father made a remark about shooting his son, while two minor children were in the house watching television during the heated exchange.

That’s when David Carpenter decided to strap up and retrieved a gun from the bedroom. He went back into the living room with the gun behind his back and continued arguing with his disabled father, who uses a mobility scooter to get around.

The pair began yelling about guns, when he aimed the firearm at his father’s face and “accidentally” shot him.

William Carpenter said his son’s recollection of the entire incident was accurate when he was interviewed at the hospital after surviving the shot to his face.

David Carpenter was arrested and charged with attempted murder and child endangerment. He is being held at Des Moines County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond, and will appear in court on August 21.

  1. People have truly gone insane. Makes one wonder if it is caused by covid and/or the jab, (more likely) I expect we’ll see more of it with the election, as corrupt as it is. We need to make the right choice this time as it may be our last.
