A Florida woman was mad enough at her husband to stab him with an illegal walking cane sword.
Wife accused of running husband through with walking cane sword
Terry Taylor, 58, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following her husband’s death from injuries allegedly inflicted by a cane that had been modified to conceal a blade.
Taylor, who remains detained without bail, reportedly called for help after the incident, but her explanations have raised significant doubts.
The police report details how officers responded to a medical emergency at around 10:30 a.m. on January 13 at the couple’s residence in Boca Raton.
When authorities arrived, 67-year-old Stanley Taylor was found gravely injured with a stab wound in his torso.
Neighbors were reportedly told by Terry Taylor to inform emergency services that her husband had “fallen on a knife.”
According to the affidavit, Terry initially claimed Stanley injured himself “while cutting something in the kitchen,” adding that he had also been experiencing a “diabetic episode.”
However, this narrative unraveled after Stanley, while receiving emergency medical care, reportedly proclaimed, “The b*tch stabbed me,” alleging that Terry had attempted to murder him.
Authorities learned from Terry’s account that the conflict stemmed from a fight over a stereo system, which Stanley had apparently sold to a relative.
Suspect claims victim stabbed himself with walking cane sword
An altercation ensued, during which Terry stated that her husband blacked out and somehow “stabbed himself.”
She described a physical struggle over a cane between the two before she allegedly grabbed another cane and “went at him with it,” making a demonstrative swinging motion during her statement.
She described the second cane as being made of brass and equipped with an illegal, dangerously sharp blade.
The blade in question was later examined by investigators and tested positive for blood residue, according to the police affidavit.
Detectives suspect Terry attempted to conceal evidence by cleaning the weapon and tidying up the scene.
Meanwhile, medical tests ruled out the possibility of a diabetic episode or related complications.
Unfortunately, Stanley succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Reports noted that he had sustained two extremely deep stab wounds located on his back.
Terry Taylor has since been taken into custody and faces a second-degree murder charge, remaining held without bond in the Palm Beach County Jail.
Sons stabs mother and stepfather
In an unrelated incident in Massachusetts, Paul O’Brien, a 29-year-old man, is accused of fatally stabbing both his mother and stepfather.
Authorities reportedly detained him without incident following a chilling 911 call placed by O’Brien himself.
He allegedly confessed his intent, stating that he tried to kill them both, even describing his actions in a blunt manner to dispatchers.
Police received the emergency call on the evening of January 12, responding to an apartment complex in the Boston area.
Upon arrival, officers found two victims—later identified as Kathleen and Michael Gaito—suffering multiple stab wounds.
Kathleen was discovered face-down in a pool of blood near a bathroom, while Michael was found injured in a bedroom.
Both individuals were transported to a local hospital with severe injuries. Tragically, Kathleen did not survive, and her stepfather’s condition remains critical.
Initial details from the investigation reveal O’Brien waited outside the apartment, blood-soaked, for police to arrive.
A knife believed to have been the weapon used was found near Kathleen’s body. According to court records, Michael was able to share with law enforcement that his stepson had entered the room unprovoked and began attacking them both “repeatedly.”
During the 911 call that led to his arrest, O’Brien reportedly disclosed to dispatchers that he stabbed his mother “everywhere” and calmly stated that he had stabbed her “enough” times that both she and his stepfather were “going to die.”
Police have yet to release further insights into what may have motivated the violent attack. For now, Paul O’Brien faces multiple charges, including armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
He remains in custody without bail pending a court hearing later this week.
