Witnesses say a Jeep driver intentionally ran over 25 seagulls on a beach and nearly hit two people walking their dogs.

Flock of seagulls on the beach killed by unhinged driver

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police is searching for the grey Jeep’s driver after receiving a photo of the man behind the wheel and another of a bird stuck in the vehicle’s grill.

The seagull attack occurred over the weekend at Klipsan Beach near Ocean Park, Washington.

Kim Ledyard McGee and her friend Dorothy Howard saw the silver-haired seagull slayer off-roading on the beach in a Jeep Wrangler.

“A few minutes later he passed us again at a high rate of speed. After the third time, Bob flung our beater truck sideways right in front of [him] forcing him to either hit us or stop,” McGee recalled.

“We jumped out screaming at him… He even still had a dead bird in his grill! After we reamed him out, he still took off at a high speed.”

The trio collected three birds that were still alive to take them for veterinary treatment, but the seagulls died in their arms on the beach.

McGee is horrified by the incident, saying that she is “So upset and something I won’t be able to un-see or forget.”

She took photos of the driver and the Jeep, which had parts of seagulls stuck in the grill, and captured video footage of an entire flight of seagulls dead on the beach.

Slayer of flock of seagulls on the beach identified

Fish and Wildlife Police reported that officers have “identified the driver thanks to these community members and officers are currently attempting to contact the man who is believed to be living out of state.”

They also mentioned that “The same Jeep nearly struck two subjects walking their dogs on the beach.”

Howard actually figured out the identity of the man herself, discovering that he was the husband of Ilwaco High School alumna who was in town for a class reunion.

She said that they had returned the Jeep to the airport on Monday and flew back to their home in Hawaii.

Howard reported that police informed her the man would be issued a court summons and faced felony charges.

Reflecting on the incident, she said, “You see a lot of natural deaths, things washed up. But this was just so intentional. It’s horrible. We were in shock.”

She added, “It’s pretty obvious that he didn’t care what he was doing. It was tragic.”

New Jersey man kills seagull over fry transgression

In a similarly disturbing case, a South Jersey father has been charged with decapitating a seagull at a boardwalk restaurant.

Police were called to Morey’s Piers on July 6, after the man murdered a seagull for trying to steal one of his daughter’s fries, then asked the restaurant’s staff to provide him with a trash bag while he was holding the dead bird.

The suspect, Franklin Zeigler, 29, got wily with responding officers and was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Two weeks later, he was charged with third-degree animal cruelty after investigators found evidence to link him to the crime of killing the seagull.

Fisherman caught reeling in illegal striped bass

A fisherman faced allegations of illegally catching and keeping 14 oversized striped bass off the coast of New Hampshire, following reports from boaters to authorities about the incident.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department were notified that a fisherman was operating without lights on his boat at night, while fishing without catching and releasing.

Lt. Delayne Brown told WMUR that other fisherman were on the coast fishing and letting their catches swim free.

They spotted the man illegally fishing and ordered him to release the fish, threatening to call the cops, which they ended up doing.

The Maine Marine Patrol, the Massachusetts Environmental Police, and local police, sought out the fisherman, who they eventually found while he was putting his boat onto a trailer and in the process of discarding the illicit fish.

“He knew that he was caught red-handed, and there were a dozen witnesses,” Brown remarked.

According to the lieutenant the suspect admitted to catching the fish and planning to sell them.

Authorities noted that the bass were way over the legal maximum size requirement for striped bass, measuring between 37 and 47 inches.

Recreational fisherman in New Hampshire are only allowed to reel in a single striped bass measuring between 28 and 31 inches per day.

Brown mentioned that the catch could be valued at up to $1,600. The suspect was charged with licensing violations and for unlawfully taking and possessing each of the fish.

The fish are currently stored in freezers in case they need to be presented as evidence in court and might end up being donated to a food bank.

  1. Yep you can be arrested for killing vermin like sea gulls, but not for crossing the US border illegally. Funny how that works.
