UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s son was caught on viral video brutally pummeling a professional wrestler who appeared to be unconscious.
Rampage Jackson’s son under investigation for attack
Raja Jackson stunned spectators when he stormed into the ring at KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy in Los Angeles and lifted Stuart Smith, known in the industry as Syko Stu, into the air before slamming him down on the mat.
The 25-year-old then mounted the downed wrestler and unleashed a barrage of punches, with witnesses counting at least 20 strikes to Smith’s head.
The violent episode unfolded during a Saturday event at the Sun Valley training facility and was streamed live online before spreading rapidly across social media.
According to the academy, Jackson veered off script during the scheduled match and instead launched into a real assault.
The attack appeared to leave Smith motionless as other wrestlers rushed in to pull Jackson away.
He quickly fled the building as chaos erupted among performers and fans.
The Los Angeles Police Department was called to the scene and has opened an investigation into the incident.
TMZ first reported the response, though LAPD has not yet provided additional details.
KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy issued a stern statement on Facebook condemning what unfolded. The post made clear that the group is “monitoring” Smith’s condition.

“What was supposed to be a planned and agreed-upon wrestling spot turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith,” the academy wrote.
“This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred. In the 17 years of operation of KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, there has never been anything as heinous take place such as this and we apologize to our patrons and fans.”

Douglas Malo, one of the wrestlers who intervened to break up the beating, said Smith suffered extensive injuries.
He told USA TODAY that by August 24, Smith was conscious but had suffered broken facial bones and lost “a lot of teeth.”

“He was choking on his own blood and teeth,” Malo recalled. “Somebody reminded me there’s kids there and then I was like ‘oh my God.’”
Smith’s brother, Andrew, later updated concerned fans on Facebook, writing that the wrestler was “stable but in critical care.”
Smith, who has promoted himself as a military veteran battling PTSD, turned to wrestling as a way to cope with his struggles.
Meanwhile, Raja Jackson has his own background in combat sports, though far less decorated than his father. He fought one professional MMA match in 2023 but lost.
UFC legend makes statement about assault
Rampage Jackson eventually addressed the uproar on social media, stating Smith was “awake and stable” following the altercation.
He attempted to explain that the sequence stemmed from a planned storyline that spiraled out of control after a heated moment earlier in the day.
According to Rampage, Smith had blindsided Raja with a shot to the head before the match.
“Raja was told that he could get his ‘payback’ in the ring,” the elder Jackson wrote. “I thought it was a part of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong.”
I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in…

Earlier footage from the event’s livestream shows Raja lingering backstage as wrestlers prepared.
Smith, staying in character, confronted him and even struck him with a beer can. It is unclear if the can was modified for safety as often happens in professional wrestling.
At that point, Smith was told Raja was “not a worker,” meaning not a trained wrestler, and tensions flared.
A KnokX trainer, Reno Anoa’i, was heard on the stream saying, “he always think that we’re working over here, like it’s a part of the (expletive) storyline.”
Smith eventually tried to apologize and, after repeated handshakes, an agreement was made to incorporate Raja into the show. “We’ll make something out of it,” Anoa’i told him.
Rampage Jackson’s son was ready to retaliate
As Raja was led into the crowd from backstage, a wrestler identified as Andre Joel Hudson told him to “give him his receipt,” wrestling slang for retaliating against a prior strike.

Raja himself was heard saying, “As long as I get my lick back, I’m straight.”
During the event, Raja could be seen in the audience monitoring live stream comments, growing visibly irritated. “I’m not playing no games,” he said at one point.
As Smith wrestled another opponent during a multi-team tag match, Raja made his move.
Raja stormed the ring, slammed Smith to the canvas, mounted him, and unleashed repeated blows. Smith appeared to be unconscious almost immediately.
Another wrestler tried pulling Raja away, and Malo eventually managed to restrain him with the help of others.
Smith lay bloodied and motionless as several wrestlers forced Raja into a corner of the ring.
Rampage Jackson again weighed in online, distancing himself from the assault. “Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!” he wrote.
However, despite saying he didn’t condone it, Rampage offered excuses for his son’s behavior.
“He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact,” he added.
