Two Venezuelan immigrants living illegally in the United States are facing serious charges after allegedly abducting and nearly killing a Washington woman.

Venezuelan immigrants kidnap and torture single woman

During the horrifying ordeal, they allegedly tortured her for financial details, and shot her along a highway before fleeing with her valuables.

According to law enforcement authorities, the suspects — identified as 24-year-old Kevin Daniel Sanabria Ojeda and 25-year-old Alexander Moises Arnaez-Gutierrez — are accused of carrying out the violent attack on January 28 in Burien, Washington.

Authorities say the 58-year-old victim was ambushed outside her apartment building by the two men, who reportedly told her they had been waiting for her to come home.

During the confrontation, Sanabria Ojeda allegedly fired a shot at the woman, but missed as she resisted and shouted.

Despite struggling, she was overpowered and thrown into the car, where she was repeatedly kicked in the head and forced to lie on the floor.

The illegal Venezuelan immigrants then began torturing the woman in an effort to gain access to her bank accounts.

Investigators say the terrifying ordeal escalated when the suspects resorted to using a power drill to pry the information out of her.

“The suspects then forced [the victim] to provide the PIN for her credit cards/banks cards by drilling into her right hand with a power drill,” police wrote in their report.

After extracting her financial information, the suspects continued threatening her life.

“They then threatened her by telling her they were going to kill her, kill her family, feed her to the bears and dump her body far away.”

Ojeda and Arnaez-Gutierrez allegedly drove their captive more than 100 miles to Kittitas County, eventually stopping near a remote area on Interstate 90.

Villains shoot and leave victim for dead

One of them reportedly told the other that the woman had overheard too much and needed to be eliminated.

Investigators allege that the woman was pulled from the car, thrown over a retaining wall, and then shot by Sanabria Ojeda.

“They shot her on a mountain pass and left her for dead,” according to the police report.

The bullet struck her in the shoulder. Believing her life depended on it, she pretended to be dead for about 15 minutes before climbing back to the road and flagging down a passing motorist.

Meanwhile, investigators say the attackers returned to the woman’s residence, where they stole her car, handbag, and roughly $20,000 worth of gold and jewelry.

The victim was transported to a hospital where she received medical treatment.

While recovering, she spoke with detectives who had already arrived at her apartment following reports of screams from nearby residents.

From her hospital bed, the woman recounted her horrible day to police. She had gone to work, spent some time with a friend, and arrived home in the evening.

As she walked through the apartment complex’s parking lot, she noticed two men she didn’t recognize.

“As [the victim] walked to her apartment, the two males outside the compact vehicle approached her and stated they had been waiting for her,” prosecutors wrote in the affidavit.

“One of the suspects had a gun and said that he knew [the victim] lived alone. He also knew [she] would get home around 6 to 7 p.m. and that she made them wait three hours.”

Evidence collected at the highway site supported the woman’s claims. Officers recovered a bloodstain, a spent shell casing, and lip gloss.

Additional proof, including cell phone data and ATM transactions, also aligned with the timeline she gave.

Venezuelan immigrants found by police

Authorities issued a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) for her stolen car. It was located over 170 miles away in Lake Oswego, Orego, by an officer who matched the vehicle to the crime.

Detectives traced the location where the car was found back to Sanabria Ojeda.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed him behind the wheel of the stolen vehicle.

Investigators also located the car used in the abduction and robbery, and inside, they found a power drill believed to have been used to torture the woman.

With the assistance of the FBI, authorities tracked Sanabria Ojeda’s vehicle to a motel in Lansing, Illinois, where he was apprehended on January 31.

A subsequent search of his motel room uncovered the jewelry he had allegedly stolen from the victim.

According to the police report, Sanabria Ojeda confessed to being involved.

“Post Miranda (rights), Sanabria stated that he participated in the kidnapping, vehicle theft, robbery and killing of the ‘lady’ known to investigators as (victim),” the arrest report stated.

Arnaez-Gutierrez was later apprehended in Mercer Island during a traffic stop.

The King County Sheriff’s Office suspects that Arnaez-Gutierrez may be affiliated with the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang that has been classified as a terrorist organization by the Trump administration.

Both men have been formally charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, and robbery. Prosecutors are seeking $1 million bail for each.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has confirmed that detainers have been placed on both suspects, as neither has legal immigration status.
