A University of Michigan student allegedly knocked conservative Jewish activist Liz Benichou to the ground during a campus debate Sunday, then threatened to kill her while officers escorted the student away in handcuffs.

“I should have f**king killed you while I had the f**king chance,” the student shouted, according to video described by Newsweek.

The confrontation unfolded at a table where Benichou and fellow conservative commentator Joseph Anthony Redden were holding an open discussion about Islam.

Redden, known online as “The Older Millennial,” had displayed signs asking “Is Islam evil?” and “Is Islam compatible with the West?”

Benichou, who posts under the name “basedinmalibu,” told Fox News that the student approached their table and began shouting.

According to footage described by Newsweek, she questioned whether the event had a permit, clapped in Redden’s face and criticized the setup.

Redden then told an officer nearby that the student had hit him in the face with her phone. She denied striking him, despite others saying the encounter had been recorded.

“But I have several f***ing eyewitnesses, I didn’t do f***ing s**t,” the student insisted. She accused Redden of “victimizing himself as a fully-grown man” and protested the accusations against her.

The argument turned toward Benichou when she challenged the student’s conduct by referring to restrictions on women’s freedoms in Iran.

Benichou recalled telling her, “You would not be able to do this in Iran,” before questioning how women dressed like the student would be treated there.

“Am I wrong? If she walked around like this in Iran, what would happen to her?” Benichou asked the people watching, according to video circulated online.

“And then she just lunged,” Benichou told Fox News.

Footage appeared to show the student pushing Benichou down with both hands and attempting to stomp on her. A man intervened and pulled the student away as she continued shouting.

“Don’t f**king talk to me like that!” the student yelled toward Benichou, according to the video. She then challenged Benichou to approach her again.

An officer moved in, forced the student to the ground and placed her in handcuffs while instructing her not to resist.

During the arrest, the student appeared to acknowledge hitting Benichou, asking the officer, “What the f**k are you going to do to me? Because I hit a f**king dumb-ass bitch in the face?”

Bystanders condemned the attack, with one person telling the student that disagreement over politics did not give her permission to strike someone.

The student’s threats continued during the walk to a police vehicle. According to the video, she yelled, “I’d do it again every f**king time, you stupid f**king c**t!” before threatening Benichou’s life.

When a bystander challenged her remarks, the student insisted she was serious and referred to having previously received mental health treatment.

“I’ve already been to a mental hospital,” the student replied, according to the reported exchange. “And I’ll go again if it means killing you.”

University of Michigan police confirmed officers had been responding to an event without a permit shortly before 5 p.m.

They said participants were packing up when officers witnessed a student assault a woman who was not affiliated with the university.

“The student was taken into custody, processed and released pending warrant authorization. No injuries were reported,” campus police said.

The department told Fox News the case would be forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Benichou gave a different account of the injury question. Speaking on “Fox & Friends” Monday, she reported hurting her lower back in the attack and said she intended to keep participating in public debates.

“It will definitely not dissuade me,” Benichou told the program.

In a separate Michigan federal case, a man from Chesterfield Township was taken into custody October 30 after allegedly threatening FBI Director Kash Patel and other federal officials in online messages.

Anthony Daniel Palazzolo, 42, was apprehended by federal agents following an investigation into statements he allegedly sent through Facebook earlier in October.

A newly unsealed criminal complaint described messages sent to an unnamed associate in which Palazzolo allegedly claimed he had “put a hit out” on that person before turning his attention toward Patel.

According to the complaint, Palazzolo called the FBI director a “punk a**” and a “dead mf too.”

The alleged threats extended to other federal personnel. Investigators cited another message in which Palazzolo threatened to come to an FBI office and “use deadly force against every single one of you government officials.”

Palazzolo acknowledged sending the messages during questioning in October, according to an FBI agent’s statement. He apologized and maintained that he had “no intent to harm anyone.”

He appeared in federal court in Detroit on October 30 to face a felony charge of transmitting threatening interstate communications, an offense carrying a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.
