An Uber Eats driver’s attempt to get a woman’s phone number allegedly ended with her boyfriend shooting him in the buttocks, pistol-whipping him and threatening to kill him outside a Florida apartment building.
Khuslen Saruultuya, 33, is accused of attacking the delivery worker near Miami’s Pearl Dadeland Apartments after the man returned to the property hoping for another encounter with his girlfriend, WPLG-TV reported.
The unidentified victim escaped with a grazing bullet injury to his right buttock and a two-inch wound behind his head.
Saruultuya was ordered held without bond Tuesday on charges that include attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and nine felony drug trafficking counts.
Saruultuya allegedly arrived in a Chevrolet Corvette and confronted the man with a handgun, forcing him to the pavement.
While the driver lay facedown, a shot grazed his right buttock. Investigators contend Saruultuya then brought the weapon down against the back of the man’s head, opening a two-inch wound.
The suspect allegedly forced his injured victim to stand before directing the firearm toward his head. “I am going to kill you,” Saruultuya threatened, according to the arrest account.
The woman at the center of the dispute witnessed the violence and tried to stop her boyfriend. Her intervention did not immediately end the encounter. The driver recounted being pursued around the Corvette by Saruultuya, who continued aiming the gun at him, while the woman struggled to restrain her boyfriend.

Earlier that night, the driver had delivered a meal to the woman and exchanged a few words with her.
That brief interaction apparently left him wanting to see her again. According to his account to deputies, he returned approximately an hour later in hopes of another conversation and possibly getting her telephone number.
He never managed to reconnect with her. Instead, Saruultuya allegedly arrived as the driver was heading back to his own vehicle.
The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. Monday outside the residential property at 7440 N. Kendall Drive.
Several people had already left the apartment complex following a confrontation when a witness alerted a Miami-Dade deputy to what had happened. The deputy had arrived in response to a gunfire report shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to the arrest documentation examined by WPLG.
At Baptist Health South Miami Hospital, the injured driver had arrived seeking treatment. South Miami police relayed his gunshot injury to authorities as the investigation developed.
The Chevrolet Corvette connected the shooting location to another Dadeland apartment building. Deputies traced its registration to Saruultuya at Palmer Dadeland Apartments, where they took him into custody.
The injured driver’s subsequent identification of Saruultuya in a photographic lineup provided another link between the suspect and the confrontation.
Deputies detained Saruultuya there and encountered suspected drugs during an initial inspection of the residence.
Among the substances documented were cocaine, amphetamines and ketamine, as well as MDMA, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms. The reported inventory also included Xanax, Adderall and oxycodone.
Investigators additionally identified two packages of tusi, commonly known as pink cocaine, along with 16 Cialis pills.
Saruultuya objected to the implications of the medication discoveries during his appearance before Judge Mindy Glazer. “Those are my prescriptions,” he insisted.
Glazer warned him against discussing the case while the allegations remained before the court.
WTVJ-TV reported that Saruultuya was denied release on bond. Jail information reviewed by WPLG placed the Mongolia-born defendant in custody Thursday morning.
A man who reportedly had been looking at Saruultuya’s girlfriend became involved in a confrontation with him at a Kendall gym in 2022. Investigators determined that the other man pulled a knife during the dispute, and police subsequently arrested him, according to records examined by WTVJ.
In Indiana, another man’s accusation involving his wife allegedly led to a gunshot inside an IHOP restaurant before a high-speed police pursuit.
Austen Geoffery Wable, 28, was reportedly heavily intoxicated when he confronted a cook at the Muncie restaurant on North Chadam Lane last Thursday.
The argument arose from Wable’s belief that the employee had been sexually involved with his wife.
“You f***ed my bitch, bro,” Wable allegedly accused the cook, according to an employee’s account included in court documents reviewed by WTHR.
The cook was allegedly shoved and threatened with a handgun before a second employee stepped between the men.
During that intervention, the firearm discharged.
A hole in the back of Wable’s pants caught the employee’s attention, as did the suspect’s unusual complaint. “I’m leaking,” Wable announced.
The witness believed Wable might have accidentally wounded himself. Police subsequently established that he had sustained a gunshot injury, although the account does not determine precisely how it happened.
Wable allegedly continued after the cook with a knife once the confrontation moved outside. The cook later declined to assist police with their inquiries.
His departure in his wife’s SUV prompted a search that relied in part on Flock Safety cameras.
Wable allegedly drove at speeds topping 110 mph as police pursued his SUV through Muncie. The chase began after officers located him on Biltmore Avenue and tried unsuccessfully to pull him over.
At one point, his vehicle reportedly lifted off the roadway and narrowly missed motorists approaching from the opposite direction.
The pursuit ended at a two-story brick house along South County Road 400 E, where Wable drove the SUV into the building.
He exited the wreck appearing unsteady and disoriented, according to Fox59. After refusing police commands, Wable was subdued with a Taser and arrested.
Officers with the Muncie Police Department reportedly could not question him because of his level of intoxication.
Back at the IHOP, emergency crews located a handgun with a single spent shell casing nearby.
Wable was preliminarily accused of criminal recklessness, intimidation, unlawfully carrying a handgun, pointing a firearm, resisting law enforcement and operating while intoxicated with endangerment.
