Authorities have named 28-year-old Joshua Jahn as the suspected shooter who unleashed a hail of bullets outside of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas on Wednesday.

Suspected shooter identified

Jahn allegedly climbed onto a roof near the ICE complex and opened fire with a rifle as detainees were being transported in an unmarked van.

Bullets struck multiple people, leaving one detainee dead and two critically injured, as terrified witnesses scrambled for safety.

Law enforcement revealed that shell casings collected at the scene bore the words “anti-ICE.”

Investigators are still piecing together a motive but suggested that anti-law enforcement resentment may have spurred the violence.

Records show Jahn was a registered independent during the 2024 election but had previously voted in the Democratic primaries back in 2020.

State databases also indicated Jahn had a prior felony charge in 2016 for delivering marijuana in an amount exceeding one-quarter ounce. He was described as six feet tall, weighing 210 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities also noted that a disturbing poster was taped to Jahn’s car at the time of the incident. It displayed a map of radioactive fallout zones supposedly from nuclear detonations, primarily targeting the West Coast.

Brother of suspected shooter speaks out

While his political motivations remain unclear, Jahn’s older brother painted a picture of someone who was far from openly engaged in politics.

“He didn’t have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew,” said Noah Jahn. “I didn’t think he was politically interested. He wasn’t interested in politics on either side as far as I knew.”

The family had grown up in Allen, Texas, and had both participated in Boy Scouts. Joshua was said to have worked in coding but had been unemployed recently, with plans to relocate to his parents’ property in Oklahoma.

The Department of Homeland Security initially reported that two detainees had died but later clarified the toll.

“As of 2:30 p.m. local time in Dallas, one detainee is deceased, and two others are in critical condition,” DHS said in a correction issued Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses described terrifying scenes as bullets pierced the morning silence. Arianny Sierra, waiting in her car for her husband’s ICE appointment, recalled hearing an intense barrage of bullets.

“The shots began at around 6:10 a.m. There were like 20 shots in a row,” she recalled.

Another bystander, Denises Robleto, was waiting for her mother outside the facility when shots rang out.

She was Facetiming with her sister at the time, and the gunfire could be heard in the recording.

“That’s very close, that’s very close,” one woman said in Spanish, while Robleto’s sister warned her to stay inside the vehicle.

Despite the danger, Robleto stepped out to see what was happening and later said she heard screaming from inside the facility.

“I had never seen anything so stunning and so close before,” she later told reporters.

Politicians react to shooting

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott blasted the attack in a statement, calling it both “horrific” and “cowardly.” He pledged that Texas will continue working alongside federal partners to enforce immigration laws.

“We will not let this cowardly attack impede our efforts to secure the border, enforce immigration law, and ensure law and order,” Abbott declared.

Sen. Ted Cruz also condemned the assault, warning against hostile political language aimed at immigration enforcement agencies.

“Politically motivated violence is wrong,” Cruz said. “In America, we disagree. That’s fine, that’s the democratic process, but your political opponents are not Nazis.”

He urged Americans to avoid demonizing each other, noting this marked the third attack in Texas directed at either ICE or Customs and Border Protection.

Democratic state Rep. Rafael Anchía of Dallas called for unity in the wake of the bloodshed. “This is not about politics — every person who values their neighbor must denounce violence in all forms and commit to meaningful action to address the gun violence epidemic,” he said.

President Donald Trump weighed in on Truth Social, blasting the anti-ICE rhetoric linked to the shooting. He noted the shell casings inscribed with anti-ICE language and called the incident “despicable.”

“The Brave Men and Women of ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and remove the ‘WORST of the WORST’ Criminals out of our Country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence,” he wrote.

Trump urged Democrats to halt their rhetoric against immigration and law enforcement officials.

The incident remains under investigation as federal and local authorities piece together how Jahn carried out the attack and what may have motivated him.

The same day, a burst of gunfire rattled the quiet early hours outside Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas when an unidentified suspected shooter opened fire at the main entrance of the highly guarded military site tied to Area 51.

The confrontation unfolded around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Officials reported the suspect unleashed multiple rounds toward the front gate of the base before being confronted by on-site security.

Police said the security team quickly reacted, directly engaging the armed man. “Security officers then challenged the suspect who pointed his firearm at them,” law enforcement confirmed.

The standoff escalated, ending when the alleged gunman was struck in the leg by return fire. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, applying a tourniquet before transporting the wounded suspect to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed the individual’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

  1. ICE is required to deport illegals. Simple but never more important, never the numbers.
The number exist because Biden opened the borders. Why open the borders? To create this situation and to increase the numbers in the next census increasing the popolation in Democrat Congressional Districts.
This is why the Dems are opposed to ICE. To control the vote by using illegals
