A Kentucky woman is facing serious legal trouble after authorities allege she attempted to use her children as pawns in a plot to trigger a severe allergic reaction in her former mother-in-law.

Kentucky woman had it out for ex-MIL

34-year-old Tiffany Gregory was taken into custody by Louisville Metro Police on Monday following what officials describe as months of intimidation and harassment directed at her ex-husband’s mother.

The charges, ranging from felony endangerment to unlawfully involving minors in a criminal act, stem from a bizarre and dangerous scheme involving bell peppers — a known allergen for the victim.

According to the arrest warrant, the alleged victim recounted to officers that she had received numerous menacing messages from Gregory.

The situation had reportedly escalated over time, with Gregory allegedly driving past the woman’s home on multiple occasions.

One particular incident mentioned in the police report involved a video sent on April 4, purportedly from Gregory’s phone, showing the woman standing in line at a Walgreens pharmacy.

Things reportedly took a more sinister turn on July 7. That day, police say Gregory picked up her two children, aged 11 and 8, under the pretense of a fun day at the zoo.

But before they could see any animals, Gregory allegedly informed the children they needed to take care of an errand.

The errand, according to the warrant, involved stomping on bell peppers and stuffing the crushed remains into a birthday-themed gift bag.

Gregory then allegedly drove the children to her ex-mother-in-law’s home and instructed them to leave the bag on the front porch.

Knowing the woman’s severe allergy to bell peppers, authorities say Gregory’s actions posed a significant risk of death or serious harm.

When the children refused to go through with the plan, a friend of Gregory’s reportedly placed the pepper-filled bag on the woman’s car instead.

Also left at the scene was a birthday card bearing a chilling message: “You ruined my life…Enjoy your allergic reaction B****.”

The victim’s husband later discovered the suspicious package, and the children went on to disclose the details of the incident to their mother, police said.

Investigators later learned that this was not Gregory’s first alleged attempt to trigger a reaction.

According to the report, one of the children shared that on June 14, Gregory visited her ex-mother-in-law’s home to deliver some “legal paperwork.”

During that visit, she reportedly smeared an unidentified pink substance on the driver’s side door of the woman’s vehicle.

The woman told police she noticed the substance and used a napkin to wipe it off.

She later woke up in a hospital bed receiving treatment for an allergic reaction.

Gregory is now facing a slew of charges, including first-degree wanton endangerment, two counts of second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, and misdemeanor stalking in the second degree.

A judge set her bail at $25,000 during her arraignment held Wednesday morning.

Father-in-law executes DIL at family wedding

In a separate, equally disturbing case unfolding in Illinois, a family wedding took a tragic turn when a father-in-law allegedly gunned down his daughter-in-law in a hotel parking lot over divorce proceedings.

Authorities in Schaumburg say 76-year-old Roland Schmidt is now behind bars after allegedly killing 45-year-old Christine Moyer late Friday night.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire near a Marriott hotel around 10:15 p.m. and discovered Moyer had been shot in the head.

According to the police report, Schmidt and Moyer had attended a wedding at the hotel.

As Moyer exited the building with her mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and the sister-in-law’s husband, Schmidt allegedly followed them out and fatally shot Moyer in the back of the head.

Witnesses on the scene, including an off-duty police officer and another bystander, reportedly intervened and managed to disarm Schmidt.

“Subdued on the ground by a citizen,” the statement read, Schmidt was taken into custody at the scene, with the weapon recovered nearby.

Police say Schmidt admitted that he had been planning the murder for at least a week and that he intended to take his own life afterward.

Reports state that Christine Moyer had recently filed for divorce from Schmidt’s son after 16 years of marriage and two children.

She served the papers on July 8, and just days later, the family found themselves gathered for a wedding, which would end in violence.

The defense argued for Schmidt’s release due to his advanced age and health concerns, though the court wasn’t swayed.

“He executed her in the presence of her own family,” Cook County’s Ellen Mandeltort stated as the court denied bail, according to the Daily Herald.

Roland Schmidt is now facing a charge of first-degree murder and is scheduled for another court appearance in August.
