A Louisville man narrowly avoided being shot by a furious father after he allegedly arranged to meet with a 13-year-old girl.
20-year-old Parker Kramer was taken into custody following an incident that almost ended his life at a residence in Florence, Kentucky.
Louisville man discovered in young girl’s room
According to a statement from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a report of gunshots shortly after midnight on Monday. The caller, who fired the shots, identified himself as the father of the tween girl involved.
Authorities detailed that the father, whose identity remains undisclosed, reported hearing noises coming from his daughter’s bedroom late at night.
Upon investigating, he discovered an adult male, later identified as Kramer, lying on the floor of the girl’s room in the buff.
The father informed Kramer that he would be contacting law enforcement before leaving the room to retrieve his firearm.
Kramer ran from the house as the father discharged three rounds into the ground near the home’s front porch.
Identity of Louisville man discovered after finding his car
Law enforcement arrived on the scene and found a vehicle parked nearby without its driver. A registration check identified the car as belonging to Kramer.
Upon showing the father Kramer’s driver’s license photo, he confirmed that the individual on the card was the same man he had seen in his daughter’s bedroom.
Additional officers, including personnel from the Florence Police Department, arrived to assist with the search. With the aid of an aerial drone, authorities located Kramer and apprehended him at 2:34 a.m.
While speaking with police, Kramer admitted to traveling from Louisville to Florence with the intent of engaging in sexual activity with the underage girl.
Initially charged with burglary, the charges were later amended to include two counts of rape and one count of sodomy.
Kramer, who is currently detained at the Boone County Jail, is being held on a bond of $250,000 and is due for a preliminary hearing on May 5.
Teenage girl held captive for months by sex offender
Separately, police in Colorado located a 16-year-old girl who had been missing since December at the home of a registered sex offender.
The Fort Collins Police Cyber Crimes Unit announced the arrest of 44-year-old Maximilian Bondrescu on April 18.
This followed a tip received from a detective on the Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force regarding concerns of an alleged kidnapping.
According to an April 24 press release, authorities were informed that the missing Missouri girl might be in a Fort Collins residence.
Acting on the information, police secured a search warrant for the address, backed by the Fort Collins Police SWAT Team.
Upon arriving at the property, officers discovered Bondrescu inside. Initially, Bondrescu denied the presence of the minor in the house, but a search of the premises revealed the missing girl.
Authorities disclosed that Bondrescu, who was on the registry for sexual offenders, had traveled to Missouri after renting a vehicle, met with the victim, and subsequently transported her to Colorado.
Statements from the juvenile indicated that she had been “held against her will.” Officers further reported that Bondrescu forced the girl to work for his snow removal business, FoCo Sno GO.
During these forced labor instances, the teenager was allegedly required to wear a mask to conceal her identity and age from others.
Bondrescu was slammed with a series of charges in connection to the case, including second-degree kidnapping, sexual assault on a child in a pattern of abuse, second-degree assault, and false imprisonment involving a minor locked in a room.
Additional misdemeanor charges against him include failure to register as a sex offender, child abuse, harboring a minor, and obstructing a peace officer.
Records from the Larimer County Jail show that Bondrescu is being held on a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5, according to the online jail records.
Kristy Volesky, Assistant Chief of the Fort Collins Police Department, highlighted the role played by the department’s Cyber Crimes Unit.
“The importance of the work done by the Fort Collins Police Cyber Crime Unit, and similar units across the nation play a vital role in helping to keep our children safe,” she noted.
“Had it not been for the diligent work of these detectives, the juvenile could have continued to be victimized. Our investigators will now work closely with the District Attorney’s Office to ensure justice for this child.”
