Over $1 million in valuables were stolen when Victoria’s Secret Model Daniela Braga’s home was ransacked last week.
Victoria’s Secret model’s Los Angeles home ransacked by thieves
Braga came home late last Tuesday night to find that her Los Angeles residence had been broken into, TMZ reported.
The intruder(s) gained entry by smashing a back window, the same way that several other celebrity’s Hollywood homes have been broken into recently.
The person or people took off before she before she got home, but escaped with over $1 million in designer bags, jewelry, and two safes.
Braga took to Instagram Stories to show the chaos the opportunistic burglars left behind in her home.
She mentioned that every piece of jewelry, including her engagement ring and wedding band, had been taken.
She and her husband, MadaLuxe Group CEO Adam Freede, felt deeply violated after their home was ransacked, especially losing sentimental items like their baby’s ultrasound picture and her mother-in-law’s jewelry.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating, but no suspects or updates have been announced, and no arrests have been made in the crime.
This incident is part of a growing trend of smash-and-grab burglaries afflicting the rich and famous in Los Angeles.
Tom Hanks’ guest house breached by burglars
Earlier this month, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s home was also targeted while they were out of town.
TMZ sources indicated that thieves broke into the guest house on Hanks’ Southern California property in broad daylight, smashing a glass window. Despite the alarm going off, the burglars weren’t deterred.
As Hanks and Wilson were not home, it’s unclear what was taken from the guest house, but the thieves did not make it into the main home.
The couple are unlikely to have been specifically targeted, as many similar burglaries have been reported in the area.
Modern Family star witnessed masked intruders in home
“Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland’s Los Angeles home was also targeted in July while she was out of town, which she discovered when she checked her security footage and saw two masked men leaving the property.
Like Hank’s and Wilson’s home, the suspects smashed a glass window to break in, which happened at dusk.
Hyland received an alert from her security system and watched the live feed as the men walked out of her front door.
Police were dispatched immediately, but the burglars had already fled by the time they arrived on site. Officers swept the house to ensure no one else was inside.
Goldie Hawn’s home ransacked twice
Actress Goldie Hawn recently shared on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” that her Los Angeles home had been burglarized twice in four months.
“What if we couldn’t live in L.A, where would we live? We both decided, I think it’s Palm Desert (California). … It’s so safe,” Hawn said about where she and longtime boyfriend Kurt Russell would settle.
Hawn described the first burglary, saying that she and Russell had gone out for two hours and returned home to find that the property had been ransacked.
“They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets,” she said. “And they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very sophisticated, and they got a lot of my goodies if you know what I mean.”
Hawn thought it was a one-time event but was shocked when it happened again four months later. She was home alone with her dog when she heard a noise upstairs.
“I hear this big thump upstairs— and I was alone; Kurt wasn’t there— and I went, ‘What the hell was that?’” she told Ripa.
The next day, they discovered the burglars were trying to get into her bedroom while she was in the house.
“That’s terrifying,” Ripa responded.
“I couldn’t believe it. What is happening here?” Hawn asked, before noting that she had hired a security to protect them.
“I have a guard, especially when I’m alone now,” she concluded. “I’m never without a guard. We have a nice relationship with our guard.”
