A lazy Indiana teenager strangles his own mother to death after she tries to evict him for refusing to do chores.
Son strangles mother to avoid cleaning
19-year-old Conner Kobold was charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated battery for the homicide of his 43-year-old mother, Shanelle Burns.
On February 5, police responded to the residence in Valparaiso where both Kobold and Burns lived. Burns was discovered unresponsive in the living room; she was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Kobold allegedly confessed to strangling his mother, leading to his arrest and subsequent mental health evaluations.
The strained relationship between the pair reportedly turned deadly after Burns gave her lazy son a 30-day eviction notice.
While the mother seemed to intend to allow her son to stay if he complied with her terms, which included helping out around the house, cleaning his room, and getting a full-time job, Kobold instead reacted with lethal force.

Son under mental evaluation after he strangles mom
The unhinged teen was arrested and appeared at his first hearing, where Kobold insisted that he act as his own lawyer.
Superior Court Judge Michael Fish has ordered a mental health professional to assess Kobold’s competency.
Judge Fish tried to explain the pros and cons of self-representation to Kobold, who was given a waiver to represent himself, pending a mental health evaluation.
If convicted on all charges, he could face 45 to 84 years in prison along with $20,000 in fines. His trial date is set for August 6.
Meanwhile, in Holland, Pennsylvania, another unhinged son is allegedly responsible for the death of his mother.
An 82-year-old woman was found dead and concealed under a couch in her condo’s living room.
Afterwards, her son, William “Billy” Michael Ingram, 49, allegedly stole her car and drove to Washington, D.C.
Naked man nabbed after murdering mom
There, he engaged in a bizarre skateboard attack on police while naked, during which he allegedly confessed to killing his mother.
After his confession, authorities conducted a welfare check at Dolores’ condo, where they found clear evidence of a crime scene, including blood smeared on walls, windows, and floor, and furniture in disarray.
Dolores Ingram’s body was discovered hastily buried under a pile of household items, after one of the officers “observed a foot” when he moved the couch.
A neighbor named Michelle reported hearing loud banging early Saturday morning and saw surveillance footage of Billy running shirtless from the apartment.
Later, he was seen leaving with a shirt on and a duffel bag, driving away in his mother’s Honda Civic.
Billy Ingram remains in custody in Washington, D.C., while Pennsylvania investigators await autopsy results. He faces charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of his mother’s car.
Woman mows down her own mother
A young woman from Ohio is looking at murder charges after allegedly killing her mother with a car in their garage.
Police were called to a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter in Miami Township. Upon arrival, they found 64-year-old Joyce Millette pinned against the garage wall by a car, while the horn blasted in her face.
Her 23-year-old daughter, Anna Millette, was still behind the wheel. They attempted to pull her from the car to reach Joyce, and noticed she was about to take off.
“Stop! Stop! Stop!” officers shouted, pulling at the door and breaking the window. “Get out of the car!”
Instead, Anna allegedly shifted the car into reverse, knocking over one of the officers in her haste to get away. She sped out of the garage and drove off down the street.
Police pursued her, and Anna eventually crashed the car. Cops used a taser to take her into custody and transported her to the hospital. Joyce Millette was also rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead by doctors. The responding officers sustained minor injuries.
Authorities have not disclosed what might have triggered Anna to allegedly murder her mom, but this isn’t the first time she’s used a vehicle as a weapon.
In May 2022, Anna hit a 19-year-old man with a car “on purpose,” because he had ended their relationship.
A witness stated that the man was walking in a yard when Anna reportedly drove by and spotted him.
She allegedly turned the car around and accelerated towards him, hitting him in the yard. Afterward, she drove to another home and began screaming at a man who was inside.
Officers attempted to persuade Anna to come out, but she refused, and they had to get a warrant for her arrest.
She was charged with two counts of felonious assault, aggravated vehicular assault, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Anna pleaded guilty to felonious assault in January 2023 and was sentenced to prison. She was let out that August and was supposed to remain on probation through October 2024.
