Shoppers at a Massachusetts supermarket were thrown into chaos when two sisters allegedly launched a violent, profanity-laced rampage while attempting to steal luxury groceries.

The dramatic altercation, which quickly spiraled into a physical confrontation and racial outburst, was captured on cellphone video and has since gone viral online.

Police identified the suspects as Olivia L. Byrd, 37, and her younger sister, Rahjane J. Byrd, 28.

The pair were arrested last weekend outside a Market Basket in West Bridgewater following what witnesses described as a shocking and aggressive encounter with store employees.

Video footage showed the women attacking multiple staff members, screaming obscenities, and repeatedly using racial slurs.

In the footage, one of the sisters could be seen punching a worker in the head, while the other swung a blue shopping bag at another employee.

Throughout the melee, Olivia could be heard shouting, “Touch me again and I’ll f****** kill you n*****, touch me again I warned you, you p****,” before continuing to shout at the staff who tried to stop them from fleeing.

Witnesses say the confrontation began when store workers approached the Byrd sisters, suspecting them of attempting to leave the store with several high-value food items they had not paid for.

According to investigators, officers later discovered bags filled with lobster, ribeye steaks, and truffle butter, which police say were taken without payment.

The suspects were detained outside the store as they tried to load the groceries into their minivan.

Documents obtained by NBC Boston revealed that the sisters told police they were fulfilling an Instacart order at the time of the incident.

Olivia reportedly told officers that the order had been canceled by the customer but claimed they had already gathered the items.

When asked to show proof, she allegedly told police that the order had disappeared from her phone.

As the investigation continued, witness Jeff Cuddy, who had stopped by the store to purchase steaks, captured the chaotic brawl on his cellphone.

Cuddy later shared the footage on social media, where it quickly drew widespread attention, accumulating more than half a million views.

“I had my cellphone on me, because I had my grocery list on there, obviously. I look over and they are fighting like crazy,” Cuddy told NBC Boston.

He described the scene as surreal, noting how the staff maintained composure amid the shouting and violence.

In a Facebook post, he praised the employees, saying that officers managed to apprehend the sisters just as they were loading their vehicle in the parking lot.

Both women were taken into custody and appeared in Brockton District Court on Monday, where they were arraigned on multiple charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, shoplifting, and disorderly conduct.

Court records indicate they were released on personal recognizance pending further hearings.

Court records show that both women are scheduled to return to court on December 17.

While Massachusetts authorities dealt with that high-profile supermarket scuffle, another violent encounter erupted hundreds of miles away in North Carolina.

Surveillance footage from a Food Lion in Charlotte captured the moment an employee was brutally attacked after confronting two alleged shoplifters.

Detective Ashley Phillips of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the incident took place on October 20 in the self-checkout area of the store on Park Road.

The suspects, she said, were attempting to steal items when an 18-year-old worker intervened. Video from inside the store showed one of the suspects engaging in conversation with the employee before leading him into a back room, where the assault unfolded.

Security footage revealed the suspect grabbing the young worker by the neck and chest, slamming him against a large container, and punching him repeatedly before appearing to stomp him as he lay on the floor.

After the attack, both suspects reportedly walked out with stolen goods.

“It’s unfortunate. Any act of violence is senseless,” Phillips told WBTV. “When we have self-checkouts, it just presents an opportunity for people who are not doing the right thing, thieves, to take items and commit crimes.”

The detective urged employees not to confront criminals directly, warning that it can lead to dangerous outcomes.

“We want to suggest to everyone that is in a store working as an employee, just step back and observe, then collect as much information as you can and call 911 so that way police can respond, and you don’t have to interfere with someone committing a crime,” she said.

Phillips noted that investigators are hopeful the suspects will be identified through clear surveillance footage, adding, “They’re very clear. I’m hoping that someone will see it and call it in. We get some good tips, and I’m very grateful for that.”

The string of supermarket violence didn’t end there. In Miami, shoppers at a Publix store were forced to scatter as a massive brawl broke out involving more than a dozen people.

A shirtless man, later identified as 20-year-old Climont Mann, was filmed tearing down a metal shelf and swinging it as a weapon.

The wild fight erupted on a Thursday, according to NBC Miami, as multiple groups clashed inside the store.

Footage captured screaming customers sprinting toward exits while Mann wielded the metal piece, striking as many as three individuals.

When police arrived, they found two large groups outside hurling objects, including plates, at one another.

Officers and emergency crews treated several people at the scene, with two transported to a nearby hospital.

Officials have not disclosed what caused the fight, but Mann was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.

Court records show that Mann has a prior criminal history, including a battery arrest earlier in 2024.
