A horrifying case has emerged in Wheatfield, Indiana, where arguably the world’s worst parents have been arrested and charged with murdering two of their children.

Steven Valle, 31, and Samantha Sebella, 25, were taken into custody after an investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office led to the discovery of irrefutable evidence.
The couple now faces multiple charges, including murder, neglect of a dependent causing death, abuse of a corpse, and failure to report a dead body.
The investigation began on September 20, 2024, when authorities received a chilling tip from an informant who claimed that Valle had confessed to killing two of his children.
According to the tipster, Valle allegedly made this admission to friends, prompting deputies to investigate further.
Detectives quickly tracked Valle to a hotel in neighboring Newton County, where they confronted him about the allegations.
Valle denied any wrongdoing, but investigators secured a search warrant for the couple’s cell phones, which ultimately uncovered a series of incriminating text messages.
Digital evidence leads murder charges
Court documents revealed that these messages indicated that Valle had murdered the two children, while Sebella expressed her anguish over the tragic loss.
One text from Sebella to Valle reportedly read, “You killed my kids cause you are a fa****, you never loved me.” In a follow-up, Sebella stated, “YOU KILLED OUR BABIES, I HAVE THEIR DNA IN MY BODY FOREVER.”
The “Baby Center” app was also found on Sebella’s phone, which documented the progression of her pregnancy and automatically entered important dates related to the child’s development into her Google Calendar.
According to a local news outlet, the police report suggested that Valle had smothered one child and drowned the other.
After reviewing the disturbing details in the evidence, a judge determined there was enough probable cause to charge both Valle and Sebella with murder.
The world’s worst parents tell police conflicting stories
In an attempt to cover up their crimes, both Valle and Sebella initially claimed that they didn’t have more than one child.
They told investigators that their sole surviving child had been born at home and had never been officially documented.
This claim led the Indiana Department of Child Services to remove the surviving child from their home.
Authorities noted that the Jasper County Health Department had no record of Sebella ever giving birth, raising further suspicion.
When pressed further during a second police interview, Sebella eventually admitted to giving birth to a baby boy in 2018.
Valle also provided more details about the tragic events that allegedly unfolded in their home. According to court documents, Valle claimed that he discovered Sebella unconscious with an infant lying between her legs.
The baby was unresponsive, and Valle said he wrapped the child in a blanket and placed him in a box.
Three days later, he reportedly buried the baby in their backyard, saying he “knew the child wouldn’t be coming back to life.”
Valle also told police that Sebella became pregnant again, but the second child was born prematurely in a bathtub while Valle was at work. Once again, Valle allegedly buried the baby in the backyard, near the site of the first burial.
Father confesses horrifying details
In a shocking twist, Valle admitted to police that he later exhumed the remains of his two children a few years after their deaths.
He claimed to have burned their bodies in a fire pit and saved some of the children’s ashes to create a necklace to remember them by.
On September 30, 2024, law enforcement authorities searched the Wheatfield property where Valle and Sebella had previously lived with the help of cadaver dogs.
The couple had been evicted from the home earlier this year, but the current residents and landowner cooperated with the search.
According to the sheriff’s office, the cadaver dogs alerted officers to three separate locations on the property.
A preliminary excavation at these sites uncovered partial bone fragments, which were sent to a specialist in Indianapolis for analysis.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that the fragments were human, though further testing was needed to determine if they belonged to infants.
Valle and Sebella now face a slew of serious charges, and await their first trial date from the comfort of a jail cell.
