In disturbing news, the world’s worst mom shoots her minor daughter in the middle of an argument and tries to cover up her crime.

A Maryland mother, Talecka Brown, 32, is facing serious charges after allegedly shooting her 13-year-old daughter in the neck during an fight at their home.

Brown now faces charges of attempted murder, assault, and firearm use, according to online court records.

Bad mom shoots daughter in shock crime

The violent confrontation unfolded last week in Seat Pleasant, a small town in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a Brown’s residence.

Upon arrival, Seat Pleasant Police found the 13-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. She was quickly rushed to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition, recovering in the intensive care unit.

According to the Seat Pleasant Police Department’s press release, initial reports indicated that Brown claimed a homeless man had broken into their home and shot her daughter.

“They’re advising the patient was shot in her neck by a homeless person,” a dispatcher could be heard saying in a 911 recording. However, as investigators delved deeper into the case, the story began to unravel.

Court documents reveal that Brown allegedly told her daughter to lie to the authorities about the shooting, instructing her to say that an unknown assailant had broken into their home and carried out the attack.

The girl, severely injured and unable to move after falling down a flight of stairs, initially repeated this false claim to police. However, further investigation uncovered evidence pointing directly to Brown as the shooter.

Mom shoots daughter and tries to cover it up

Investigators believe that the mother shot her daughter during a heated argument and then attempted to cover her tracks by fabricating a story about a break-in. It wasn’t until later, during questioning, that the truth began to emerge.

The girl’s condition remains critical, but she is stable, and doctors continue to monitor her recovery. While the physical injuries are severe, Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy said that the emotional trauma is likely to last her entire life.

“And while no one thinks that a mother would shoot her very own daughter — no one could conceive of that — these incidents do happen,” Braveboy stated in a press conference.

Further complicating the case are allegations that Brown attempted to manipulate the legal process from jail.

According to Assistant State’s Attorney Ashley Sowls, Brown left a voicemail for the girl’s father, with whom the daughter was staying.

In the message, Brown downplayed the charges against her and hinted at a possible way to make the case “go away.”

“Attempted first-degree murder — c’mon, that’s not me,” Brown allegedly said in the voicemail, as according to The Washington Post.

Brown suggested that if their daughter refused to cooperate with police or failed to appear in court, the charges would be dropped.

Mom shoots daughter, prosecutors disturbed

This attempt to influence the case from behind bars has caused apprehension for the prosecutors.

“That was concerning to the state because, obviously, with her being 13 years old, she’s very impressionable and that’s our concern,” Sowls told reporters.

“It’s her mother. She’s going to listen to her mother. We don’t want her to be tainted in any way by the pressure.”

Sowls also criticized Brown for her apparent lack of concern for her daughter’s well-being. During a court hearing on Wednesday, Sowls noted that Brown had never inquired about her daughter’s condition or showed any remorse for the shooting.

“At no time did she express any concern for how her child is doing,” Sowls said, citing court records and witness statements.

Brown is currently being held without bail, with her next court appearance scheduled for October 25.

Memphis mother accused of attacking son with screwdriver

In a similarly disturbing incident, a Memphis, Tennessee mother, Miriam Castillo, 44, was arrested after allegedly attacking her son with a screwdriver following a reckless car ride home from school.

Castillo now faces charges of felony aggravated child abuse and misdemeanor domestic assault, according to Shelby County court records.

Witnesses reported seeing the boy running down the street, shouting, “She is trying to kill me!” as he fled from his mother’s vehicle.

According to an affidavit, Castillo’s son said his mother was driving erratically after picking him up from school.

At one point, she allegedly tried to push him out of the moving car while on the way to pick up his sister.

In a desperate attempt to escape, the boy called his father, who advised him to take the car keys once the vehicle stopped.

When the boy tried to follow his father’s instructions, Castillo reportedly bit him on his hand and elbow. She then allegedly grabbed a screwdriver and stabbed him in the leg, causing minor injuries.

The boy managed to escape and sought help from a bystander, who called the police. When officers arrived, they found Castillo intoxicated, with a “strong odor of alcohol” emanating from her person. She admitted to drinking but couldn’t recall how much she had consumed, the affidavit noted.

Following her arrest, Castillo’s two children were released into their father’s custody. She is currently being held on a $40,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
