A homicidal semi-truck driver smashed his big rig into a Florida strip club on Tuesday after being ejected over an argument.
Semi-truck driver runs over strip club patrons
Police arrived at the scene of the Emperors Gentleman Club in Tampa, Florida, at 4:19 a.m. for a “truck vs pedestrian” incident in the parking lot.
When they got there, police found the semi-truck had rammed into the front of the building right by the entrance.
Witnesses recounted that the man accused of driving the semi had been kicked out of the club for arguing with someone inside before the incident.
The unnamed driver “lied in wait” for around a half-hour until the person he got into a verbal spat with exited, then drove the semi-truck “into a group of people standing at the entrance.”
One man was killed in the deliberate crash, and two other men were injured, but are expected to survive.
The semi-truck driver was taken into custody and was taken to the hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition.
“This is an unbelievably tragic and completely avoidable incident,” Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said about the incident.
“We will work to get justice for the victims and their families. We are thinking of all those impacted, including the innocent bystanders who witnessed this horrific ordeal.”
The 25-year-old semi-truck driver will be charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, DUI manslaughter, and vehicular homicide and DUI with serious injury, once he is released from the hospital.
Semi-truck driver runs over officer during traffic stop
A semi-truck driver has been accused of deliberately driving into police and their vehicles in Utah, and killing one officer.
In the early morning of May 5, Sgt. Bill Hooser of the Santaquin Police Department stopped a semi-truck along northbound I-15 in Santaquin, Utah, due to a report that someone had been seen standing on the back of the truck while it was driving.
Instead of pulling over, the driver pulled a U-turn in the middle of I-15 and drove into oncoming traffic, gunning right at officers and the police cruisers parked on the highway.
The semi-truck hit two cruisers and Sgt. Hooser, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our entire department is hurt, and the family of the officer is hurt,” commented Santaquin Police Lt. Mike Wall.
“Because of a senseless act by one individual, we have family members who will miss their father at their nearing wedding. But I can assure you that we as a police department will stand up and will be there, and we are one family.”
The semi-truck driver, 41-year-old Michael Aaron Jayne, managed to escape on foot and carjacked multiple vehicles as he fled.
Police were able to apprehend him after “a high-speed pursuit” that ended 175 miles away in Vernal, Utah.
Police discovered an unidentified woman in the semi-truck, who Jayne was allegedly holding captive after threatening her with a knife and bear spray.
Semi-truck driver has a history of violence
Jayne has a history of being “willing to enter into high-speed chases and cause accidents” and attacking police.
He was charged with several counts of attempted aggravated murder after attempting to ram a truck into two police vehicles in Oregon in March 2009.
Jayne was convicted of attempted assault in the first degree and possessing body armor as a felon for that incident.
He was also slapped with 17 additional charges for bad behavior while doing time in California, after he assaulted a correctional officer.
After his release, he was arrested in Texas for possessing a weapon as a felon and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
He made his first court appearance on May 15, appearing before Judge Robert Lund in Utah’s Fourth Judicial District Court. He attended the hearing virtually from the Utah County Jail.
He was wearing a neck brace and had an oxygen tube in his nose, with visible cuts on his face stemming from a car crash that happened while he was fleeing officers on May 5.
He has been charged with aggravated murder for Hooser’s death, two counts of attempted aggravated murder for attempting to run over the other officers, and aggravated kidnapping.
Jayne has also been charged three counts of theft, one count of burglary, and failure to respond to an officer’s signal to stop.
He should NEVER see the light of day. Hopefully he will suffer in prison as his victims familys are suffering because of this piece of crap. He assulted a corrections officer earlier. He should never be in a position where this could happen again . Never, ever come in contact with another human. Let him die. Hang the SOB.
