The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that they were called about a man ramming another person with his car around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

LVMPD Homicide Lieutenant Jason Johansson explained that the suspect had been dismissed from his job at a construction site.

According to Johansson’s brief, the construction worker was fired from a home remodeling job after showing up to work in “a condition where he was unfit do do his job and was fired.”

The construction worker allegedly came back to exact his revenge by chasing his former boss down in his SUV, then reversing into him and slamming the man into a wall, which was all caught on surveillance footage.

“He was attempting to hit him while driving east and westbound, both in forward and reverse,” Johansson noted.

From there, the situation escalated into total mayhem. Steven Bowman, a resident of the area, told KLAS-TV he saw the construction worker in a black SUV going after others after running over his ex-boss.

“I heard somebody say, ‘He’s coming back,’ and I couldn’t move,” Bowman recalled. “He didn’t care who he was coming after.”

That’s when fellow resident Ana Tilley, told her 27-year-old grandson to fetch her shotgun so she could put an end to the carnage, but he ended up taking matters into his own hands.

“The guy wouldn’t stop,” Tilley said. “I said, ‘Throw me the gun.’ No. He raised the gun, and I thought, ‘Oh my god! Oh my god!’”

In the footage, Tilley’s grandson uses shotgun to fire multiple times at the vehicle, which put a stop to the rampage. When police arrived, they found the man dead.

The man who was run over had severe injuries from the attack, but was deemed to be in non-life-threatening condition and was hospitalized.

Bowman sustained a leg injury during the incident, but was discharged from the hospital hours later.

“It happened so fast, you don’t understand it happened so fast,” Bowman said.

Johansson confirmed, “The entire incident is captured on video and corroborates the accounts provided by the witnesses.”

The shooter who put an end to the horrific incident was taken into police custody and released the following day.

Caregiver killed after fatally stabbing his former charge

Separately, a former caregiver killed a paralyzed man after crashing a a car into his California home.

The Irvine Police Department reported that officers responded at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Monday, after 38-year-old Bash’s current caregiver found his client stabbed to death inside his home.

When officers arrived, they found a crashed minivan in the garage and Bash’s body.

Aaron Matthew Shindle, 47, was later found by police less than half a mile from the victim’s Woodbridge residence.

Police were forced to shoot Shindle after he lunged at them with the knife used to kill Bash.

“As officers were canvassing the area for the minivan driver, an IPD officer encountered the registered owner at Stonecreek South and West Yale Loop,” the police said in a statement.

“During the exchange, the officer observed the male holding a knife,” they wrote.

“The male raised the knife and advanced towards the officer when an officer-involved shooting occurred. A knife was recovered at the scene.”

The IPD shared an image of the bloodied weapon and provided further details about the incident.

“The male suspect appear[ed] to be the driver of the minivan that crashed into the home and is believed to have killed the victim,” the statement read.

Shindle was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities confirmed Shindle was the lone suspect in the stabbing.

“Preliminarily, the suspect is a former caregiver for the victim,” the report stated, adding that Shindle had previously lived in Tampa, Florida.

“Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident,” the statement said. “They do not believe there are any additional suspects.”

IPD’s Sgt. Karie Davies mentioned uncertainty about the motive behind the crime.

“According to what we know, there was no beef,” she remarked, noting that the investigation into the shooting would be handled separately by the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

Davies noted that the victim’s family told police that the attack was “out of the blue,” and said that the motive was something that detectives would “have to figure out.”
